Is oil the same in France

Is the oil (for boiler) the same in France as the UK? I am buying a boiler from the UK and I was asked the question...apparently UK uses light oil?

Most UK domestic use Kerosene class C2. France 'Mazout' I believe is closer to our gas oil class D fuel. Most burners can be adapted but low level flue only allowed with C2.
