What is the best bet with regards to planting thyme? I have had a planter full of sage, rosemary, oregano and thyme for about four years on my balcony. For all of that period all of these herbs have flourished. It is the thyme we consume most avidly and it has now reached the point where it is coming to the end of its natural life and ceasing to grow. So should I buy a new plant and if so when? Also should any type of substance be used on thyme? We have just let the plants grow naturally up until now?
By the way, it is the woody type of thyme that we have, not that wimpy lemon stuff that takes eons to remove the leaves. Thanks in advance for any advice.
