Is there a maximum distance that a soil pipe can be before it joins the main drain?

I am in a new build property and ever since I've been in, there has been a problem with the soil pipe. The builders are now doing remedial work where they are re-routing the soil pipe right around my property (a bungalow). The total length of soil pipe will be 41m, with two bends. I am concerned that this total distance will be far too long to be able to efficiently and effectively carry the waste out. Can anyone advise? Many thanks.

As long as it is laid at the correct fall it will be ok. Should ideally have inspection chambers at corners/bends.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. It does have rodding eyes at each bend. I'm just concerned that I've one of these eco - cisterns and it seems a very long way a small amount of water has to carry waste without getting stuck, or leaving stuff behind.

It isn't excessively long, won't be a problem if installed correctly.

I suppose it is 110mm OD, they haven't skimped on that?

Ah, I'm not sure - I'm just the homeowner. We've just tried putting down some toilet paper at the furthest point away, and it's not getting all the way out..... I could scream.... as I think it might be something to do with the size of the cistern and nothing else.....

make sure you're getting the full 6 litre flush

Distance wont be an issue, but a correct, constant fall is vital. Really should have a chamber at each change of direction too. Are Building Control at the local Council aware/involved?
