Hi guys,

following on to a previous post, I’m about to start taking up the damaged floor that got wet a few weeks ago

it’s chipboard on top of 25mm of what looks like some sort of polystyrene and then concrete?

anyway on the images attached is this black stuff dpm? Or i think Someone told me they use polythene to stop the boards squeaking?

Visqueen (1000 or 1200 gauge - or in other words thick) polythene is indeed normally laid as a DPM

You can't stop squeaking by using Visqueen (I'll tell the lads at work tomorrow - we like a good laugh!). Glued joints and/or proper fixing with proper support is key to stopping squeaking
