Measurements-My rough brick to brick

Windows 17 in total 5 Non opening.

100cm x 120 x 10 (3 not open)

100cm x 90 x 2

100cm x 60cm x 2 (1 Not open)

66cm x 66cm x 3 (1 Not open)

Doors
100cm x 210cm x 3

Patio
195cm x 210cm x 1

Looking to replace the above

Got 3 quotes from Independents
First two use Liniar
Last quote uses Kommerling\Rehau

All A rating glass and secure doors (?)

Quotes range from

` £7k

£10K

£10K (Though started at £16K-dropped to £13 without asking...)

All are local and have good reviews on various sites.

So my question is:-

Why is the cheapest £3K less or is this a fair quote?

What do I need to ask this firm to determine why their quote is way cheaper?

Thanks

I thought posting a question on the forum was asking "them" Please advise how it should be done if this is not the correct way. Thanks

Many sellers online who can provide instant quotes , the more you get the better.

Do all the non opening windows meet current regs in respect of fire egress?

And your 3 patio doors and other door seem to be very short, please confirm?

Hi

Thanks both for the reply.

3 external doors.
Height 210cm x Width 100cm

Patio doors
210cm x 195cm x 1 (my error in first post)
All non opening windows meet fire egress regs.

I am getting another independent around tomorrow.

Not really looked into on-line sellers-thought the personal local trader was the way to go here?

The cheapest quote has only 2 reviews on-line which look suspiciously like the same person. Firm has been in business for 5 years.

£10K quote has more reviews for Fascias\guttering etc. Though the rep did know his stuff, no hard sell.

Most expensive quote was pushy, dropped from £16k without even asking and was a little hard to get rid of.
Firm has been in business for 2 years.
Has lots of reviews for windows\doors etc.
(he has now dropped to £10K + when he rang to chase and I sadi quote me for white\white.

All my neighbours had their windows\doors done a few years back and have no recommendations.

Cheers

Have they got a showroom/workshop where you can see the product, and ask about the specifications ? They may well be like our local firm - lower overheads and a small workforce.

Make sure you get your sizes the right way around, width always comes first them height. The mistake on the doors was easy to spot but the windows is near on impossible, look at DHFrames avatar to see the mess you can get yourself into by giving the height first

Thanks for the replies
I have amended the first post to reflect correct sizes with width first.

Good point re the showroom-Google can't see it but I could pop around if needed.
