Seems a bit poor to me being bare on the top and bottom

What about LPD? We like one of theirs called a Vancouver

To the untrained eye it looks a better quality:

just watch them doors if there the formica covered ones as are easily chipped and a pig to repair(always be seen)

You need to seal it, or it'll swell in the damp weather. You can use 2 part wood filler, or silicone sealant, or varnish.
 
I'm going to sell on the Premdor, it just seems like a **** worktop. It's a 762mm and it doesn't fit my 765mm opening whereas the LPD fits and seems more like a door.
 
Solid Pine doors all through our house, 10 years on still as good as new!.

Pig to fit though as all the door frames were out of square..
 
I weighed up my options and as we'd already decorated the rooms decided altering the doors was the lesser of two evils!.
