Permaguard and EverBuild are two I've used.

If you are able to get a proper support, ideally a joist, under that stud wall, so that the new floor covering butts up to it, rather than going under it, will make life a lot easier for future maintenance.

Yes good idea. Think its called a noggin which goes beyween joists, and the floor could be nailed to the noggin
