Is this the immersion heater switch?

Hello I've been told this switch is a fuse switch and other people have told me it's for the immersion heater, can someone confirm this?

It's left on all the time and I never touch the timer thing.

If it is an Immersion heater, should I turn it off and start using the timer

Its a switch ,without a fuse. It may supply the timer ,if you switch it off does the timer still work?
