I know they're rubbish and my latest problem is, the heating of rads are fine, it's the hot water, for a few weeks had to turn the tap down to get a reasonable heat, i'm aware that this needs to be done in some parts of the country when it's really cold, but not here.

Lately, when running the hot water, the boiler runs for 30 - 40 seconds then shutsdown, the water at the tap is luke warm only, turned the tap off, and the boiler starts back up a few seconds later for 30 secs. then off.

I promise not to touch the gas side of things. Thanks.
Even though i'm already. in breach.

Thanks dan, i'll clean it and will get back to you, it's just a matter of shutting the full trip down and protecting the electrics?

Or dodgy thermistor

Control thermistor or return, as i first suspected hex and then a thermistor, would the overheat thermostat be involved? I can test all if needed, not sure how to keep them at the right temp whilst testing though.
