Isar HE24 no lights lights but still working

My partner has a Ideal Isar HE24 combi boiler and today the digital front display went blank. The boiler still works. I've reset the control panel but no joy. The hot water thermostat dail never really worked but now the hot water is really hot and tuning the thermostat dail doesn't do anything. Is the problem with the PCB or the front control panel? Is there any test i can do with a multimeter to narrow it down.

If its still working its the user control panel that has failed.

Yup they have two PCB's one is the display unit.

you could use an hammer instead of a multi meter. for its works with the eyesores

Before buying new parts,check the connector hasnt come adrift.

or even worse...check the connections don't have water damage...if they have....its big bucks time

the connections that the user control panel plugs on to are thin strips of copper and easily wear away, the user control panel might be perfectly fine but a condensate leak in the combustion case can run down and corrode away the connections on the plastic case it fits on to.
