Isolation valves - problem making a good seal

Overnight no bead of water formed on either joint, so am puzzled why it's only happening intermittently. Even when some does form it's never enough to actually caused a single drip, so I think that instead of fiddling I'll continue to monitor it. I'm now going back to the condensation theory - even though the bead of water sometimes forms when there's no condensation on the pipe it of course can also form on the metal valve.
 
Indeed, from what you say I would monitor for a while and see what happens. It certainly doesn't sound like much of a leak if indeed it is leaking. No more than a weep,
