Unfortunately, the events on and following Oct 7th has made life for some amongst us, including me, somewhat difficult. Being born a Jew does not necessarily mean that we are looking for trouble; no, far from it. Most of us are peaceful and would prefer the quiet life, but hatred for those like me has made us acutely aware of what could be coming down the road baying for our blood. It is not a nice situation, but one we have to live with.

So you keep saying. The IDF are having a tough time and fighting a war in an impossible area to avoid civillian casualties. The whole area is simply made up of civillian buildings and heavily populated with civillians. Hamas do not wear uniforms when fighting the IDF and hide amongst the population. They use hospitals, schools and mosques to fight from and set up command centres, they have tunnels running around the area connecting buildings to each other. When you wage war against Israel expect a fire power response.

Israel are now talking about safe areas for people. They will be security checked and moved to areas which will not be attacked. I don't trust their motives, but why not do something like that earlier? Protected areas for civilians who have been checked?

You say you don't trust their motives but as I said earlier that hamas do not wear uniforms and hide amongst the people. Security checks on the people that they are giving the aid to is a good idea in my opinion and will ensure that the aid goes to those that need it.

They've noticed the contempt they earned by using starvation as a weapon to kill Palestians, and by using the promise of food as bait to attract starving refugees they can kill.
