Im looking to buy a new house, and many on offer hav ivy all over, wich looks nice, but what danage is it doing? If i remove the ivy, will it look a mess?
It all depends how long it has been there. Removing it can be a bit of a chore and there will be marks where the roots have penetrated the brick or mortar. If not too bad a good pressure washing can remove most of the marks.
Chop through the stem of the ivy as it comes out of the ground, then you will have to wait for it to die off. If you don't and pull it off the brickwork straight away it will pull out the mortar.
