The gardener is removing the ivy in stages from our 100m garden wall. Given the ivy makes the wall 2 feet higher and wider, there is A LOT!

They're 'rolling' it off the wall and severing the stalks, leaving it for me to dispose. What is the right tool to manoeuvre this kind of mess... Some kind of pitchfork maybe?

If the ground under the wall is clear enough, lay a tarp or similar down and cut it straight off the wall onto it...just ehough at a time you can carry.

It's already done or the tarp idea could've been good ;) By hand will involve lots of bending and gathering bits up - plus it's full of biting insects I'd rather keep at arms length - hence the idea of some sort of fork which would grab a nice chunk at once and let me drag it.

A rake? You won't want to gather too much at a time; the stuff's heavy!

I am considering it if I can be sure it won't spread. There is ground ivy next to the wall - is green ivy something that could catch alight?
