Approx one month ago fitted water supply to friends fridge (ice maker etc)
Took feed off of cold feed in loft in doing so used a JG pushfit fitting from 15mm copper one end to 10mm the other with a 10mmx 1/4 reducer , as said it was ok for a month and then decieded to blow out of the 10mm end ,the 1/4 pipe intact in the reducer , my question is has anyone had this happen and what valid reasons would there be as it was fitted as per the correct methods also when i looked at it the twist lock was loose so put pipe back in as before and no problem but i am very unsure that it wont happen again with the consequences , cheers .

only had this when joints not done correctly in first place, but I very seldom use plastic/push fit.

Hello mick , yes i expect the stock answer to be that the fitting was not put on correctly , surely if this was the case it would show straight away ?
cheers howy

you would expect it to show straight away but can take months.

Months , i think plastic fittings are a no no then as much as possible .

hi it must be fitted wrong.weve had push fit under our kitchen sink since 1998 and hasnt budged touch wood.

Did you use the inserts on the plastic pipe before you fitted it to the T?

Did you twist lock the T joints?
