Jag S type Auto, notchy gear change

My jag has started, lurching a bit when changing up and down, not much but it's not as smooth as it was. I think it is fitted with a ford auto transmission, not a ZF one. I have read it may be that the TCM or ECU may need reprogramming, or of course it may be something mechanical, there are no diagnostic codes. Any thoughts?

Does the economy mode smooth things a bit, compared to sport?

Oil change and filter in the transmission, go from there ........

Mine is ZF box (is not an S type), no lurch, but I went for a precautionary change of fluid, filter (and pan) at about 60k miles.

You might find that disconnecting the battery for a while resets the gearbox settings to standard. Mine learns the driver's style and changes the shift criteria to suit, whether sedate or racy.
