Jeep radio code - but how to enter?

Hi

After some winter related flat batteriness, our R-reg Jeep Grand Cherokee asked for a radio code reset. The wife fumbled the buttons and it seems to be locked out.

I have the four digit code, it was written in the manual, but when I turn the ignition on, the display goes "Wait... Wait 2 hours... Wait..." Any attempt to enter the code just cycles back to this.

We never drive for more than two hours, it being petrol I don't want to leave the ignition on for that long.

Is there an override code that allows you to enter the radio code?

You may have to disconnect the battery and start again. Leave it disconnected for at lease 10 to 15 minutes.

Then reconnect and try again

PS Lock the wife in the house until recoded successfully !!
