I am fitting a standard 840 x 2100mm UPVC back door with a 715 x 915 deep UPVC window butted against it. I assume I need to ensue both are well fixed top and bottom into the brickwork. What should I do at the joint between the two to ensure a good seal / fixing?

Run a bead of Silicone down and between the frames where they meet before you fit them together. Then just screw the 2 frames together making sure that the end of the screw isn't too long and doesn't protrude through the frame rebate at the other side.

There is usually either a steel or reinforced concrete lintel over the top of the opening. Replacement windows/doors are only usually fixed along the sides & bottom as it’s impossible to get a good fix into the lintel.

Also if you get in touch with your supplier he should be able to give you a metal re-enforcing bar to go between the two. this is fixed to top and bottom and the two screwed to it.
If you don't support it you'll have to adjust the door about once a month as the window and door wobble around.

Hope thats some help??
