joining waste from basin to toilet soil pipe

Hi. I'm in the process of doing a refit of my bathroom and am intending to cut a hole in to the top of a horizontal 600mm long run of 110mm soil pipe in order to fit the waste pipe from a basin. I have a boss connector with a 32mm fitting lying around which could be used. Can anybody think of a reason for me not to do this? I'm just a casual diyer and could use the advice.
