Jointing Stove Rope

Whats the best method of joining the rope ends ?

The US method seems to be to glue the rope ends whereas here they use tape

Any trade secrets . Thanks

Why do you need to join it, what part of the installation is this for?

Tape or adhesive both work , take your pick .

We'll I learnt a couple of things

The rope ends can be butter together successfully without glue or tape

And an idea I saw elsewhere is that glue isn't needed if rope is a good fit
