A quick joist hanger question for you ..................

Can I use 50mm joist hangers to hang 47mm regularised timber joists?

I wrongly purchased 50mm hangers, and really need to do the job this weekend, which means that I won't be able to get back to the builders merchant to swap them over.

Help
 
50mm is a default size to accommodate all sizes relative to the 50mm mark. There would be no point in making them smaller.

Just for closure - I went ahead and installed them, and the BCO was happy with everything when he inspected it.
