Just how fast is my Broadband running?

I have telewest 1.5 mb broadband running 2 pc's. My sons pc seems to surf faster than mine even though he only has a cheapo mobo and processor, £100 for the pair. I have a int pen 4 processor and a asus £150 mobo.

Is there any software that lets you know how fast your Broadband is running.

And can i download it from Kazaa..

for free speed tests try: www.adslguide.org.uk and click on the speed test link (lower left).

For monitoring bandwidth usage (and limiting usage ) take a look at http://www.netlimiter.com

You mentioned Kazaa. This is a spyware magnet. Scan your PC with something like ad-aware or pest patrol. You'll be surprised what you will find.

if your machine is the host on a lan then u can be slower than your other pc because your pc is the master
