karcher problem

i started up my pressure washer today to get no response!
water pressure at the inlet is ok.
motor makes the sounds but no pressure change is achieved when motor is turned on.
water comes out the nozzle at inlet pressure.
please has anyone got any ideas, or whether theres a reset button somewhere.
the machine is a 520M, about 2 years old.

breezer, been given an idea that it might have been running with no waterflowing into it, which is quite possible as i lent it to someone who turned out to have a dodgy tap.
is there a chance yours ran dry?

Idiots for friends

Mine was loaned out to a mate who later admitted that he had run it "dry", then put the water on

to be honest i think mine was "jack" that got at it

rang 3 local stockists today who all told me the model i have is a good one which has a low pressure valve internally, which can stick or fail.
the approx cost of repair fell between £25 and £40, much better than the £200 to replace this one. fingers crossed that no more seals have failed, for my mates sake!
