Hi,

We are using the filling loop on our microgenus 27MFFI almost daily, is this indicative of anything? It seems to be getting worse and worse and I'd like to fix the problem before it shuts down completely!

you could have one of many problems.

1. a Leak either on pipework, boiler or radiators.
2. The blow off valve is failing and releasing water
3. Water is passing in the heat exchange from your heating to the water(not good)

Have you seen any water or is there any wet patches on carpets. If you keep losing water as quick as you say you are you would notice the leak.

Thanks, I'll double check for any damp patches, but like you say, it would be a lot of water!

Is there any way to rule out the heat exchanger?

I would let your central heating get to temperature and then turn the boiler off. Open the hot tap and see if the water gets hotter as its running. If it does then your heat exchange is passing the heating circuit into the hot water chamber and your pressure would drop.

Or turn off the towns mains and then open the hot tap and if water comes out it is passing.
