Hi all,

I have a Saunier Duval 40FF Boiler

In the last few days, I have satrted getting a kettle noise coming from it

1) What could be causing the problem ?
2) Is it serious - ie. If I ignore it, will anything happen ?

Cheers

:)

Limescale on the heat exchanger caused by incorrect water treatment/commissioning.

As you have a c.i. HE then in all probability nothing will happen although severe cases of scaling will cause the HE to crack and leak.

As a precaution the gas burner pressure or gas rate should be checked to make sure its not over gassed.

There's now a post on kettling in the FAQ topic near the top of the topic index page.

kettling is a term used for when water is turning to steam thus your boilers heat exchanger is furing up
