key card

hi can anyone help me i have a 53 plate renault megane and when
i put my card in reader to start my car it keeps coming up card not
dected i have changed the battery and still the same message appears
but my wife spare key works fine any ideaers

If I recollect correctly, the card can be removed after the car has started, start it with your wifes card then put your card into the slot and stop the engine. Data transfer may take place, worth a try.
