Kidde Fyrnetics 223/9HI Optical Smoke alarm

Around 2:00 yesterday staqrted beeping very loudly - not the long alarm tones but short beeps, not the quieter chirps that tell you the battery needs changing - have not had any of those.

Has it failed completely? Currently disconnected.

Looks like Kidde have recently discontinued and can't find the manual on their web-site.

that one is a discontinued model, but the new one should fit ok on the same base,

try changing the battery first, then re fitting it, see what happens
