im about to start converting my garage which currently has a concrete floor.

if i was to use kingspan k3 floorboards, do i need to put a membrane down before/after and do i need to lay a chipboard floor on top, or just screed it?

thanks

Any insulation and flooring material you lay down will be governed by height tolerance up to the existing floor.

Kingspan sell a product called "Thermafloor" whereby the insulation is bonded to an 18mm chipboard sheet. A separate vapour control layer is not required.

thanks for the reply noseall.

my garage floor is 130mm below the kitchen floor, i the largest k3 boards i can find are 80mm.

what do i do?

50mm of screed?

stack 50m of kingspan?

revert to standard joists with kingspan inbetween?
