I am replcaing a kitchen ceiling - after having a new lighting circuit put in. Is it necessary to skim the boar after fitting - I was thinking of using 12.5mm tapered edge so I can tape and fill the edges. Also as it is kitchen space should I have two thicknesses of board and vapour shielding?

Thanks

No need for vapour sheilding in domestic kitchens just use proper paint (for kitchens and bathrooms). I'd use one layer of square edge boards and skim, much nicer finish.
