Hello All
gonna put in 8 downlighters in back kitchen, can anybody reccomend brands, watts, transformers, just anything to put me in right direction please...also will these be run off their own radial/ring?? etc

Something decent if you dont want problems. Fittings are fairly similar but go foe cast ones. Transformers use individuald 50/60va ones from a decent manufacturer, mode or IBL are prob the best

Where are you based scooby I tell you where to go and kind of price you should pay

If you want an easy life IBL do a cast fitting allready pre-wired to the transformer and complete with lamp. These are very reliable and dimmable. They can be purchassed from several wholesalers but i believe in Liverpool you have Newey & Eyre
1721.10 are the white ones I would expect you to buy prob around the £9-£10 each mark.
Alternatively buy a fitting on its own any make £2-3 lamp decent £1 and IBL 4632.00 transformer around £4-5

Good luck

colored effect fitting slightly dearer, do yourself a favour and get fitting with twist release for lamp change not the horrible spring clips. Other things to consider if you have double layer plasterboards IBL fittings no good go for Aurora.

What's the room above the kitchen? Will you need firehoods to restore the fire rating of the ceiling?

thanks for replies lads, after all that though she has decided to go with mains surface mounted spotlights..
