I have a drain gully just outside the kitchen window into which the kitchen sink drains. This week it was blocked and the water level was up around the top of the gully grating.
Today it is working perfectly. How?
Last night I poured a litre of drain unblocking liquid (B&Q yellow bottle) down the drain and stopped the sink until this morning. No difference at all!!
I emptied the gully - messy fat and silt came out and then I used a single drain rod and the rubber disc and poured clean water into the drain until full, insert the rubber disc and rod until the rubber disc was halfway down the circular part of the gully and vertical drain below. Then a few up and down pull/pushes and hey presto the drain was clear. Looked down the manhole adjacent to see large lump of fat go down the sewer pipe.
I think this would work in most blocked kitchen drains.
