I have a leak in my flexible duct that goes from the top of my extractor fan ( Siemens lc48950gb) to the outside wall. The flexible duct is run through a ceiling void about 2m to front of house.
When I turn fan on to remove fumes the fumes come back into the room via my ceiling spots, so I know the ceiling void must be filling up with fumes.
My problem is I cant easily remove the stainless steel flue to get access to the flexible duct.
The stainless steel flue goes up through a wooden panel that forms a bridge over my cooker. I managed to raise it about 2cm but it is now jammed tight to the ceiling and won't budge any further.
I am wondering if I need to remove this panel and if so is this something that can be done without damage ?
