I have 12v spot lights in the kitchen that can be switched on from 2 points.
When we switch the kitchen lights on from either point it trips the fuse.
We can turn the lights on/off in the living room ,hall, dinning room, which are on the same circuit and all is ok.
Any idea what is wrong?

Cheers.

Damp, rodent damage, mechanical damage, faulty transformer etc etc
Isolate the circuit, find the transformer, disconnect it but leave the rest of the wiring as it is and safe. Then energise the circuit again and try the switches.
If there is more than one transformer repeat the above for each one.

Has it always been like that, or is this a recent development?

If the latter, has any work been done anywhere? New shelves, cupboards, picture hooks, flooring - anything at all?

No it has jusy happened.
Been living here for 4 years no problems

Could also be heat damage to the wiring just above one of the lamps - hot halogen lamps, cabling cooks and eventually burns through. Pop!

I'll look out for that when I check them this weekend.
Thanx for all the suggestions.
