Kitchen Plinth Heaters

We've a small budget to redo a kitchen with little space and are struggling to figure out the best heating solution.

Wet underfloor heating is beyond our budget and have been thinking about either electric underfloor heating and also something we've heard about called plinth or kickspace heaters.

Does anybody have any experience of these? Do they work? Are they noisy? Do they connect to the heating timer and thermostat?

Or would we be better off with electric under floor heating?

Kick space heaters heat well and quickly.... Yes they can be quite noisy, especially on high speed so avoid cheap ones... They will switch on the blower fan when hot water is detected passing through the coils and will switch off when the water is cool but it is always a good idea to wire in a room 'stat to switch off the heater when the room reaches a set temperature independant to the 'stat controlling the rest of the heating system

no it's only a smal fan thats running

yes connect to the heating circuit.

Only fit electric underfloor heating if you have more money than sense

Feeling negative about electrical UFH because of running costs, but have never seen a plinth heater in action.

Yes I've got a Smiths one and I'm extremely pleased with it - after a recommendation from someone on this forum. It's pretty quiet on the normal setting and I connected via a room stat so it doesn't come on when the kitchen's already warm.
