Hi,
I need to remove this single socket as I’m building a tiled splash back that would go across it. As you can see there are plenty of sockets available so I just want to remove it.
The cable comes in from the top. The cables for the double come up from the bottom.
By process of elimination we’ve discovered that’s it’s a spur coming from upstairs - but this is directly below the bathroom - I’m just wondering why anyone would go to all that trouble when they could have spurred it from the socket next to it or extended the loop.
I’m not an electrician so there may be a valid reason for this - it’s either coming from the heating timer (which is in the bathroom) or from another bedroom.
I am looking to put a socket in above the cupboards roughly above where this is - is there any reason I can’t use this spur?
