Knackered screw heads

Bathroom and pumbing fittings are prone to getting rusty screws so the heads get knackered. How do you pro plumbers get such a screw out without cracking the basin or pan? Any hot tips? (ooer missus)

Loosen the flow switch first.

Use a Brummie spanner

You can drill out the mild steel carpenters slotted jobs, but the posidrive type are too hard to drill. Has anyone tried the JML extractors?

Posidrive type screws drill out OK if you use the "universal" carbide tipped drills. They look like masonry drills but are sharp. All I use in a cordless non-sds now.
