We have a General Electric Potscrubber 900 that came with our house- we don't have manuals. A few months ago we installed a new water heater. Since then, each time I use the dishwasher at some point in the cycles the water knocks all the pipes in the house for several minutes. Any ideas what would cause this??

It sounds like water hammer, and rather than the cause, the cure is to have a small expansion chamber tee-d onto the washer supply pipe. This will reduce or stop the knocking.

PS why is it almost all the washer queries come from the USA? Are their washers unreliable? :?

Thanks for tip! I'll see what that does for us and we'll let you know.

P.s. Don't know what to say about the washers and the U.S. :)
