Hi all, I'm looking to replace my windows and doors. I've decided to go for double glazed wood, probably hardwood in a georgian casement style. I'm looking for good value, well made, secure windows (aren't we all).

The problem is that I've found lots of good, on the face of it, window makers, but not that many that will measure, make and fit all to a good standard. The house is rendered so in order to limit the damage I would prefer to avoid the sledgehammer and bolster brigade.

Basically looking for any recommendations from you of someone that can carry out this to a high level and takes a bit of pride in their work. Area is Redditch Worcs.

Is repair an option? Double glazing is not the best way to reduce fuel consumption, and repair will allow you to keep the single glazing.

I'm afraid not many of them have seen better days !!

Having seen what can be done, I don't share such a pessimistic view. Replacement is often a response to a salesman.
