krypton/argon

have some lights fitted with 18 watt standard T8 tubes.
seem to work ok

on the hf ballasts is 18watt krypton, or 16 watt argon

new to me, anyone explain

At a guess I would say it relates to the filled gas inside the lamp. Can't be anything else really.
It's not something I've notice before though.
 
Think so,

normal tubes Afaik use argon, and are 18 watt.

Never seen a 16 watt 2 foot.

I need 3 new units so I think, best get 18 watt ones I suppose.
May phone tridonic dealer and ask them they make both sizes.
