Hi I am just curious if anyone knew what the going rate for some labour work is per day/hour or for a job such as below

I need to get the grass removed from my back garden for starters...i think the area is around 6mt by 10mt. dont need the turf so need to factor in waste removal

Wouldn't want to comment on the labour costs, but getting rid of waste can be suprisingly expensive.

You could probably fill a small skip with that amount of turf.

HI Esa,

There are different routes you could employ to carry out this work:

1. employ a small groundworks contractor
2. hire equipment to carry out the work
3. hire labour to carry out the work

I would recommend that the least expensive option would be to employ a young healthy digger to shovel and wheelbarrow the material. as Jono correctly said, removing a 2" layer would fit this material into one skip and the labour should be no more than two days work. Ideally you could find someone looking for some topsoil for gardening purposes and they would remove it free of charge.
