well here's an interesting one!

been asked by a customer to plaster and then 'lacquer' a small room in his recording studio, it needs lacquering as it will be a reverb room, anyone got any light they can shed on this process?

don't think so, he wants a special finish when he's talking about lacquering, think he's seen it somewhere and has used this word to describe it.
