laminate floor : transition between landing and top of stair

Hello,

I am planning to lay laminate flooring on landing. I have removed the old carpet on the stairs and varnished them.
How can I make the transition between the top of stair and the laminate floor?

Is the top tread (bullnose) at the same level as the top of your laminate or the same level as the underside of your laminate?
And how thick is the laminate?
