Laminate Flooring

I've moved into a house with laminate flooring throughout. Unfortunateley only half a job has been done. The panels have been laid up to the skirting boards leaving between 5mm and 15mm gaps in places, there is also a small amount of up/down movement on parts of the floor edge. Any sugestions on how to cover the unsightly gap and also around shaped door frames?

The gap is to allow for expansion of the floor - often the skirting is removed bofore fitting the floor and the replaced over the top of the new floor. You can get beading to cover it that glues/pins to the skirting - either in floor colour or plain to enable it to be painted skirting colour. I have also seen cork strips used to fill the gaps - these still allow expansion but it will depend on the colour of the floor as to how they would look. You could replace the whole skirting but you may need to get a local joiner to make it for you in a thicker size than standard to cover the gaps.
If the other gaps at the doors are around the architrave you could fit plinth blocks where the skirting and architrave join - these would be slightly thicker and may cover the gaps - the boards shound have been run underneath to start with really!
