Large crack in ceiling caused by mini flood

Hi

A few years back I over ran the bath and as a result a small crack appeared in ceiling downstairs (kitchen). Well over the years the crack has slowly grown and this morning after my shower I noticed water on my kitchen table.

I have someone coming to sort out the leak, but wondered if this is going to be a massive job to repair my ceiling?

The crack is thick and about 10" in length

Any information would be so appreciated

A photo would help, but the size of the job depends on the extent of the damage and the construction of the ceiling. In the worst case you might have some rot, and in the best case it'll be just a patch of plasterboard skimmed over.
