large tiles,

just removed all the tiles from around my bath which has a shower,the plaster board appears to be ok.have read i need to prime and tank.i will be using large tiles..........but have noticed people saying about the weight per sq mtr help on subject please ie can i just prime do all walls have to be tank above bath with shower and weight issue :confused:

Did the old tiles come off clean? No damage to plasterboard?

I'd recommend tanking around your bath/shower for sure. However, this is less of an issue with large tiles.
As for priming.... what do the instructons on the adhesive say?

Weight? Is your plasterboard skimmed? If so, you're looking about 20kg/m² max. Go and weigh a square metre of your tiles and see what it comes to. Then add a few kg for the adhesive.
