I don't know all the answers, having seen it myself I know its heartbreaking for the person that wants to leave their 50k savings to their children but they cant.

It's a worthwhile conversation about where the cut off point should be, but there are implications. @diy_fun_uk also wants to do away with IHT and CGT. We would all have to pick up a hefty bill for all of that.
