Lath and Plaster Materials

Oops. same image 3 times. Now corrected.

Maybe - I'm not sure. It's a pretty big void and nothing much to adhere to except laths above and top of masonary wall below. I could probably wedge some in. Or would wire mesh be better?
 
Looking at it, wire lath would be best to fill the void. You could fix it at the top onto a lath and also try and fix it to the bottom onto the brick, (drill, then use a couple of screws and plugs).
