What can i do to prevent leaves on Laurel bush from being eaten?

Also growing indoor at the moment some sunflower seeds. As they grow, when do i put in garden, and do young shoots indoors need support?

Probably vine weevils on the laurel. Lay out sheets of newpaper around the plant and shake them off after dark. Or spray with Provado.

Sunflowers are best sown striaght in the soil. Indoors, they'll stretch towards the light so keep turning them. You'll have to harden them off by acclimatising them to outdoor conditions before planting out - put the pots out in a sheltered spot during the day and bring them in at night until all risk of frost has passed. They need support - tie them carefully to canes as they grow. When you harden them off and plant them out, protect from slugs.

Laurels can be prone to shot-hole which is very hard to control and is just a cosmetic issue, it doesn't really do the plant too much harm.

Its usually clear to see the difference between this and something eating them.

I have some with shothole but quite a few with edges being eaten. Will try the Ultimate Bug Killer. For £10 worth a try.
