Does anyone have experience of these carburettors https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/15671556...MI3NfeiZjVjAMVnpNQBh2kNAhgEAQYAyABEgKrT_D_BwE It's the same as the one on a Lawn King mower. I got the spark sorted out and it starts first pull after you squeeze the primer bulb 3 times as per the instructions. But it then only runs for a few seconds and then cuts out. If you repeat the process several times and get the engine warm then it runs ok. The carb doesn't have a throttle control or a choke as such it just relies on the butterfly valve being turned by the govenor lever on the top to control the airflow. No mixture screw or tickover screw. If you hold open the govenor (butterfly valve ) for a few minutes after the first start then it will rev up and warm up faster but I'm sure you should not need to do that. Thanks

This is a typical carb used by Tecumseh machines. What you are experiencing is pretty typical but try say 5 presses of the primer, but still stand by to give another press if the motor fails.
The issue is actually the fuel being a fraction low in the float chamber but plastic floats aren’t adjustable, unlike the early brass ones.

Thanks John since posting earlier I think I might have overcome the problem by fixing a piece of stiff wire to the side of the engine that can be wrapped around the govenor arm and act like a choke cable to hold it actuated. Once the engine warms up the wire can be released (bent back ) and it runs normally.
