Morning all,

I would like to know how I would need to prepare an area of my garden for laying a shed base. The area in question is a gravelled section of my garden which once was the home of an absolutely enormous shed / workshop that my grandad built from scratch (he was the sort who didn't believe in spending money when he didn't have to - which has led to some infuriating discoveries over the years, I can tell you) but now I find the need to have a part of it levelled and prepped for a smaller shed (6' x 4' at least but no bigger than 8' x 6'). The yellow area in the below photo is the area in question (all the other bits and pieces would naturally be got rid of):

Would this preparation be a case of tamping the gravel down and laying a concrete pad, or would I be better served by having someone who knows what they're doing coming in to sort it out?

Muchas gracias,

Mart
